This pheasant hunting season in South Dakota has been a fantastic one for us at Shooters Hunting Lodge. The pheasants are thick. Everyone who has hunted with is is amazed at the number of pheasants we have. We are able to maintain this fantastic wild bird population with the habitat we have. Almost all of our farm is plated to natural grasses, habitat for the birds. We go in and plant "food plots" grain sorghum, which we let stand all winter for extra feed for the birds. If you hunt with us you will be hunting these grain strips, grasses, lake beds, dams, and tree groves. It is not uncommon to see hundreds of birds in one walk. We are still hunting until January 4th and still have dates available.
