Pheasant Fest

Heath is currently at Pheasant Fest in Madison, Wisconsin. He reports that is is a huge hit, and had had tons of interest. People walking by see the television show that is playing, which we shot with Trophy Quest for Tire Kingdom International, and remember watching the show. If you would like a copy of the show, just let us know and we will get one in the mail to you.

I wanted to point out some legislation just introduced in the SD Legislature that would affect this website, as well as many other hunting related websites which allow people to post, just as I'm doing here.

If you haven't had a moment to peruse HB1277 and HB 1278 yet, I would point out that especially in the case of HB 1278, the measure has a strong effectby mandating that they all have Internet Protocol tracking installed for those websites which accept comments or posts from the internet.

What HB 1278 states in part is:

FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to provide for a process of obtaining certain information from online content providers in slander and libel actions.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That chapter 20-11 be amended by adding thereto a NEW SECTION to read as follows:
Any person who allows internet posts shall keep a record of the internet-protocol logs adequate to provide identification and location of otherwise unknown, anonymous, or pseudonymous persons who leave or upload content. However, no person may be compelled to produce such information except in response to a court order.

Since "internet posts" would seem to entail and include under the broad mandate of the legislation, comments left by those who might not use their full names on this website, I'd encourage you to contact your local representatives and state senator to offer your input on the legislation.
